The Decatur Land Trust seeks volunteers to serve on its newly formed Community Advisory Board

The Decatur Land Trust, Inc.(DLT) is recruiting members to serve on its newly formed Community Advisory Board. The mission of the DLT is to acquire and create homes, land, and commercial properties for community benefit and permanent affordability and to encourage home ownership by stewarding new homeowners and minimizing displacement. The Advisory Board Members will work closely with the Board of Directors and the Executive Director to support the organization’s start-up and ongoing operations for various affordable housing and home rehabilitation projects.

Applicants should be driven by the belief that they can make a difference in our areas affordable housing issues using their diverse backgrounds and possess knowledge and skills in one or more of the following areas: leadership, business, law, and audit, human resources, finance, governance, strategic planning, partnership development, real estate, mortgage banking, skilled tradesmen, government navigation, communications, economic development, entrepreneurship, & relationship networking. These positions are unpaid volunteer roles with a 1-2 year time commitment. The Application deadline is March 20, 2023 with virtual and in-person interviews to be scheduled March 21-25, 2023.
